Al Nasr, Al Dhafra, Al Ahli and Al Ain have triumphed as the semifinals of the President Cup took shape. Al Dhafra clash against Al Ahli and Al Ain play Al Nasr for a spot in a dream final of the prestigious competition on January 30.
Early in the evening on Monday, Al Nasr earned a narrow 3-2 victory over ten-man first division club Al Dhaid at the Sharjah Stadium. Lima, Toure and Tareq Ahmed struck for Al Nasr as Koli and Omer Mohammed scored for Al Dhaid.
In Bani Yas, Al Dhafra claimed a tough fought out 1-0 win over Al Shabab. UAE debutant Jose Rogerigo fired home the all-important goal of the fast-paced clash.
Meanwhile, Defending champions Al Ahli bounced back to reverse their early deficit into a 4-2 victory over Al Wahda at the Khalifa bin Zayed Stadium in Al Ain City. A brace by Ismail Al Hammadi and goals by Jimenez and Grafeti sank Al Wahda while Diaz have earned a double for the Abu Dhabi side.
Al Ain came from behind to beat Al Wasl 9-8 from the spot after the two sides played to a 2-2 stalemate regular and extra times.
